Parent Letter 03/02/2018
Thanks to all the parents who attended conferences last evening. Your partnership is greatly appreciated by your children's teachers.
As indicated in last week's letter, there will be no classes for the students next Friday, March 9. For this reason, there will be no parent letter next week. I will include school news for the next two weeks in this letter.
The cases of World's Finest Chocolate bars are available on the office for those who ordered them. A case is $60 and must be paid at the time of pick up. Please get these as soon as possible. Thank you.
Monday, March 12, is an exclusion day for those students whose tuition is not current. Please permit your children to attend classes by paying any tuition that has not been paid through February. The March tuition payment is due on Thursday, March 15. At this time all fees (General Service Fee and Noon Supervision Fee) should be paid.
On Thursday evening, March 15, at 7:00 there will be a meeting for all parents whose children will receive their First Communion Saturday, May 5. At least one parent must be in attendance. Details concerning this special celebration will be shared.
Bishop Alberto Rojas will be celebrating the 8:15 Mass with the students on Friday, March 16. We encourage all of our parents to join us in prayer at this Eucharist.
An awards ceremony to recognize the achievements of the students during the second trimester will be held on Friday, March 16, at 1:00. The time for the ceremony is earlier because of the Stations of the Cross which will be prayed at 2:00. Why not come to the awards ceremony and then to to the church for the Stations of the Cross with the students?
Have you registered your children for 2018-2019? If you applied for a tax credit scholarship, please do not wait to register your children until you have been notified that you have received a scholarship. This may take some time since none of the SGOs can issue scholarships until they have received the money from the donors. AS we have done in the past, Our Lady of Grace will work with you in providing tuition assistance if you qualify. All applications for tuition assistance are due on March 29.
Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 11. Be sure you turn your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed on the 10th.
In Sunday's Gospel, the temple of which Jesus speaks in not hthe great Temple in Jerusalem. It is the new temple, Jesus Christ Himself. A temple of stone, no matter how solidly built, will someday crumble and fall, but the new temple that is Jesus will last forever.
Although his body will be brokeN and His blood shed, Jesus will be raised up and He will be stronger than ever. Jesus makes the animal sacrifices in the Temple obsolete. The offering of His life is the only sacrifice that is worthy of God.
COME TO MASS ON SUNDAY; REFLECT ON HOW YOU ARE A TEMPLE OF GOD
