Dear Parents/ Guardians,
Tomorrow morning is the annual Breakfast with Santa. Thanks to all of you who have made donations of food and have volunteered to help with this event. Breakfast with Santa will be held in the school hall from 9:00 AM- 12:00 noon. If you have not purchased tickets, you may purchase tickets at the door for $8.
Music will fill the air on Wednesday evening as students from kindergarten through grade eight will present their annual Christmas Concert. Students should be in their classrooms at 6:45 dressed up in Christmas-colored clothing.. red, green, white, gold. Students will be brought to the school hall for dismissal after the entire program has been presented. This allows all groups to have a great audience as they perform. Miss Sacco has been working diligently with your children and I know you will be pleased with the concert.
The preschool students will present a Christmas Concert on Friday morning at 11:00 in their classroom.
This past Tuesday we sent you a copy of a letter from Dr. Rigg concerning the tax credit scholarship program for the 2019-2020 school year. If you received a TCS this year, you must re-apply for TCS for next year. Please not key dates and what documents you need to apply. The sooner you apply after the websites are opened for Empower Illinois and Big Shoulders Fund the better your chances of getting a TCS for your children. We are encouraging you to submit your application on your smartphones. After reading the letter and fact sheet, please put these in a safe place. The websites will be opening shortly after Christmas vacation.
Students will be dismissed at 11:30 on Friday to begin their Christmas vacation. Students should come "dressed up" on Friday.
Students who did not have a behavior form during the month of December may enjoy a dress down day on Thursday.
During this season of giving, we thank all those who contributed:
*baby food to the Women's Center of Greater Chicago
* a monetary donation to the Teacher's Christmas Fund
Last Wednesday all of the students from preschool through grade six received a bag of six books from Bernie's Book Banks. What a beautiful gift and just in time for Christmas vacation!
In Sunday's Gospel, people wonder if John the Baptist might be the Messiah. John tells them that this baptism is nothing compared to the baptism of the true Messiah, who baptizes "in the Holt Spirit and in fire"
We are blessed to experience this baptism of Jesus. Let up praise and thank God because we have been baptized "in Holy Spirit and fire." Christ is already with us and in us through the power of the Spirit.
COME TO MASS ON SUNDAY, EXPRESSING JOY THAT CHRISTMAS IS NEAR.
