OLG Receives Leadership Award
Our Lady of Grace School received the Polk Brothers Foundation Leadership Incentive Award from Big Shoulders Fund. According to the notification letter from Big Shoulders, the award "symbolizes our gratitude for the focused outcomes-based curriculum your school provides in a caring, holistic environment to children who benefit from this the most."
The school will receive a monetary grant of $11,500. At least 50 percent must to be used for purchasing materials and tools(i.e. books, software, etc.)that will directly impact the learning environment including teaching and student achievement. The school Principal Sr. Rita Marie Range will have the opportunity to attend four professional development sessions to share best school development practices with other principals.
The news could not come in a better moment. The award is a great way to kick-off the Centennial year and draw attention to a history of academic excellence. Congratulations to Sr. Rita! We are proud and grateful of the work you do.
Every year, Big Shoulder presents the award to encourage good work. Big Shoulders, a non profit organization, provides support to Catholic schools in the neediest areas of inner-city Chicago.
