Student Life

Our students can choose to join music and sport activities. We have girls and boys basketball teams and a Children's Choir for students between the ages of 6 and 13.

Students enjoy outdoor activities, such as picnics and walk-a-thons. They have access to special events and competitions created to promote education in specific areas. For example, they learn about the stock market by investing real money and competing against other schools.

Most importantly, we encourage activities that foster Christian values, civic responsibility, and tolerance.

Catholic Schools Week 2017

undefined

Catholic Schools Week is from January 29 through February 3. The week-long celebration recognizes the value of Catholic education and celebrates the community we have built to educate tomorrow's citizens and church leaders.

The week's theme - "Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service" - focuses on the core of Catholic education. Our Catholic schools are not only communities in themselves, they are also part of larger communities, including Our Lady of Grace parish, the city of Chicago, and our nation. The theme also highlights key elements of Catholic education: faith development, academic excellence, and dedication to service. The week gives all of us the opportunity to thank the faculty, staff, and volunteers who give so much of themselves to educate our students.

OLG students raise awareness towards bullying prevention!

October was National Bullying Prevention Month. OLG students in grades 5-8 created a photo series where they shared motivational quotes that they either wrote or quoted from a famous person, to bring awareness to this important issue.

Together, OLG parents, faculty and parish community promote the teaching of Christian values, spiritual growth, the total development of each child and academic excellence.  OLG endeavors to prepare students for commitment to their faith, responsible citizenship, and future academic success.
