The
Fall 2006School Book Fair worked with
Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc., Toys for Tots and National Center for Family Literacy to raise money and books for victims of Hurricaine Katrina. Thanks to the valuable expertise of our librarian, Mrs. Andrea Grabowski, we raised over 287 books for our library! We were also able to donate 142 books to children that were victims of Hurricaine Katrina!
Thank you those of you that stopped in and donated to this great cause. Thank you also to all the alumni, friends and parents who volunteered at this event.
Giving Tree a Success!: Tree Thank you to everyone who shared the Christmas spirit with someone in need. We were able to give
305 children gifts, 76 jackets and shoes to many. It is truly an unbelievable thing when a child has no winter jacket or a jacket so small the sleeves are up to her elbows.

We had a little girl (6 years old) that jacket was a size 3; we gave her a size 6 jacket. She also received a matching hat, gloves and scarf. She was so happy that she had some of the volunteers crying.
We would like to thank Patty Gómez and 39 of her coworkers at Old Dominion Freight Line for buying gifts for the Giving Tree.
I would like to THANK the people who helped me after Masses: Maria Pacheco, Juanita Montero, Carlos Acevedo, Jorge Vera and Lina Ruiz.
I would also like to THANK my elves that helped on Thursday, Friday and Saturday: Linda Dodovich, Lydia Galvan, Monse Guerra, Herlinda and Linda Saavedra, Lillian Velez, Christina Cartagena, Shirley LaCour, Noreen Vazquez, and Corinne Dodovich.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
